This workshop introduces advanced techniques in the use of stencils for blowouts and printing with pulp in handmade paper. We will learn methods of using the fogg-it spray nozzle with stencils to create blowouts as well as using stencils adhered to the mould to create watermarked images within the sheet forming process. We will learn advanced techniques in pulp painting including pigmenting and color mixing, how to work with additives to modify the pulp fluidity and how to use a deckle box to form painterly sheets of paper. Each session includes a hands-on lecture, technical demonstration, viewing of works in the Studio K collection and lots of experimentation. No prior experience required!

Each workshop includes a Show & Tell Hour scheduled two weeks after the class to pick up finished artworks.
