This workshop offers an introduction to the papermaking process, including how to pull sheets of paper, as well as various papermaking and artistic techniques. We will learn how to use principles of color theory to pigment pulps, use additives to modify pulp consistencies, paint with pulp, print with pulp using stencils, wet collage and embed objects into paper.  Each session includes a hands-on lecture, technical demonstration, viewing of works in the Studio K collection and lots of experimentation. You will learn about the properties of different types of fibers and how they are processed, principles of western sheet-formation and creative techniques including embedding, collage and pulp-painting. Great for beginners and those looking to advance their papermaking skills in a professional studio!

Each workshop includes a Show & Tell Hour scheduled two weeks after the class to pick up finished artworks.
